Semano 28- El Baptismo del Junior

All right, spoilers guys. Our friend junior who is a college student did not end up going to Houston yet and he doesn't know exactly when he is going anymore and we had invited him to pray if he should be baptized here in Mercedes or in Houston and he just got baptized on Sunday!! WHOOO!!

This week has been busy with zone conference, exchanges, lots of people on baptismal date, and just a busy week. We have been finding some really elect people like a girl who was walking her three Legged dog, was on the phone, and it was dark and we decided to pull over and talk to her. She was really excited and wanted to learn more and even came to church on Sunday! There were a lot of things trying to stop our progress with us and our friends. People were getting sick, some vehicles broke down, lots of people ignored us, and we were only finding Spanish people that we had to pass of to the ZLs. (The whole TMM missionaries are called in spanish but half the time we are in English areas and the other half spanish so we don't teach in spanish just see if they are down and if they are cool enough pass them off here in our area).

We did decide to just stop and say a prayer because we were struggling to feel productive at all on Saturday. So we just had a quick moment and then I took some inspired turns driving even though nobody had been out or willing to talk all day and then found 2 people within 5 minutes. I know that God is listening to all of our prayers and when we are willing to act in faith and believe that things will come, the answers and miracles are given. We were able to see a lot of our work pay off this week ans right now one of the big things in our zone is getting in person member lessons because a lot of people need friends within the church. We did a really good job of setting it up and helping our friends feel loved by members and it has been so cool to see these members take charge and us not having to worry.

Pensamiento Espiritual: Elder Dallin H Oaks
“We do not preach an teach in order to ‘bring people into the Church’ or to increase the membership of the Church. We do not preach and teach just to persuade people to live better lives... We invite all to come unto Christ by repentance and baptism and confirmation
in order to open the doors of the celestial kingdom to the sons and daughters of
God. No one else can do this.”

I have been studying a lot about the importance of baptism and how many miracles happen as peoples lives are changed not just a moment but for eternity. This is not something just to say you helped people or lots were baptized but to give people a new start, access to God's power and the holy ghost, and the ability to stand as a witness of God, take upon them the name of Chrisrt, serve others and receive a remission of their sins that is not possible in ANY other way. Christ talked of this importance and I know the difference in these people's lives that they have noticed once they are baptized. I am eternally grateful to be a witness of these things and to see the wonderful miracles all around me.
