Semana 19- Double the Trouble

Remember how I said I would keep ya'll posted on news about transfers??

Well, get ready for some changes. So sit down, buckle up for this one, it's been a week.

Monday we ended up playing capture the flag for 3 ours with the zone before transfers. It was like 100 degrees and 100% humidity, thankfully it's always overcast but all of us were dying by the end of it. Tuesday nights come with the transfers news. And yes I'm staying in Alice. The thing is, our zone was demolished. Robstown is no mas. They took out 3 companionship of our tiny 16 member zone and combined us with the Corpus zone to make us with a humongous 30 missionary full zone. No me gusta porque I liked the tiny zone and actually knew all the people... And one of the companionship they killed off was the elders in our district. Which means... Martinez and I took over their areas. So we've pinkwashed them and have now 2 areas. And the people the elders were teaching didn't come over until saturday and they have a lady on date for baptism. Dont worry, we got the info and have been teaching her now. And she's puro Español.

So our "dating district" is demolished and we are with 3 elders companionship now. But our og Elders are still in the district, just a new area. The one thing is they only gave us 150 miles, and Corpus is a 100 mile round trip, and they want us to go there every other week, and we just got a new area.... so, if my math works up we don't have enough miles. 🤔 I am sure it will all work out, it's just weird to have been a missionary in a now dead zone.

Other exciting news!! Our buddy Saul got baptized!! AAAAHHHHH! It was so amazing and his mom and grandmother came. Everybody was in tears. The thing was there aren't a lot of members in Alice and we couldn't find somebody who could baptize Saul, so, we pulled some strings and the whole new district pulled up and our Elder was able to baptize him. ¡Que un milagro! It doesn't help that there are only like 40 active people and only like 5 who have the priesthood... and all of those work. The Holy Ghost was strong and it was cool to just have the whole district there to support and a bunch of members all there for Saul. And then he was able to come to get the Holy Ghost on Sunday! It's just amazing how the gospel continues and blesses all these people.

Us sisters also got to raid the elders apartment because they aren't going to be there any more. Cue us managing to lug a sectional up the stairs in a 100 degree weather. I also found an old guitar, and because I have been having severe music withdrawals and I WILL be stealing this. We also had to take the door off to fit the couch through it so thank goodness I had some screwdrivers!! And the other tenants helped us get this couch once we had it all the way up to go past the 4 by 4. But all things considered, I will be missing having missionaries close to us just because we are in the middle of nowhere and 45 min out from the nearest ones...

We had a lot of cool people come to church and three right now on date for baptism! I can't wait to see them all learn more even if it means they don't want this for right now it is do cool to just be there and hear the stories of other people while trying to give them some joy and light. Prays up for Olga, Jorge, and Francisco please.

Pensamiento Espiritual:
First of all, thanks to all of the mothers, women, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, and friends to be our support and example. I love my mom so much! She is my best friend and has helped me every day in ways that she will never know. Without her support, love, and example I wouldn't have done a lot of things and would be a very different person. So thanks, from the bottom of my heart. And for being the hardest working mom ever!!
