Semana 20- Bienvanedas a la Isla
I wish I could say that I had the time to write a ton this week. Unfortunately it's been crazy and I am already running out of time. I'll just share with you guys the highlights so you can enjoy the photos.
Pero, we had to drop some progressing people. One with Jorge was super hard because he has come to church a couple times he just doesn't feel the difference between this church and any other. It feels like loosing a friend because we can't teach him any more without him desiring to progress. We also had a guy who expressed his love to Sister Martinez so we of course had to drop him. He wasn't that interested after what we taught him but we were able to feel the Holy Ghost and leave us with our testimonies. We know he felt the holy ghost as well even though he denied it because he talked about how it felt like time was slowing down. He did give us some heart shaped rocks though... and mine is tiny and brown whilst sister Martinez has a big Ole white one. 😂
We also got to the temple today!! Actually my favorite thing ever and I felt the spirit so strong there. It feels like you are standing beside the Savior. It has felt amazing because it has been a while since I have been able to make it to the church. I invite all to take the time to go or at least walk the grounds. I promise as you do so you will feel the Holy Ghost. It was also all in spanish, which was really good practice for me.
Our air conditioner in the car broke. Which is unfortunate because now we have to do zone conferences in Corpus which is an hour away. So, it's all open windows going 80 because of how hot and humid it is. We also finally made it to Padre Island!! Which has been the best p-day yet. We played ultimate Frisbee and soccer on the beach and the water was so fun. I honestly wanted to dive right in. (Trust me, I refrained from it.) Our lady Olga came to church which means that she is getting baptized on Saturday!! I also went to an inactive members house that had previously been in the Elders area. They were so cool and they have an ancient organ. I had some inspiration to play it for them and played Be Still My Soul. The spirit was so strong that our friend member actually cried. Then she told me it hasn't been played in 15 years. I felt honored even though I didn't do that good but it brought the spirit and then we bore our testimonies and gave a spiritual thought. This week we have felt the spirit so much and worked so hard. Oftentimes we haven't been making it back until 8:45 and haven't even had dinner. I know the work continues and we have both felt so productive and spiritually fed! Can't wait for next week's miracles!!
Pensamiento Espiritual: from P Nellys most recent talk
"Time in the temple will help you to think celestial and to catch a vision of who you really are, who you can become, and the kind of life you can have forever. Regular temple worship will enhance the way you see yourself and how you fit into God’s magnificent plan."
