Week 3- The Flight

This week began one just like most online MTC days. Which means that I think everybody who has to Zoom people for over 7 hours deserve a medallion, free lifetime ice cream, and a free flight to anywhere in the world so they can escape the onlineness. But alas, I digress.

I finally arrived at the real MTC last Wednesday. There was only one problem, for those of you in Idaho you may know of the lovely snowstorm that we had. This resulted in my 4 am drive to the airport having a car crash right in front of my mom and I and a 4 hour postponed flight. There was a lot of time to just sit in the plane and ponder on the meaning of flights and the logistics of snow shoveling vs the rate of snowfall.

The real MTC has been pretty good. At the same time that it has only been one week it kind of feels like I have been here for forever. I now have a trio because one Hermana was supposed to go to the Mexico MTC but was unable to get her visa in time. It has been really fun to have two other girls though and I have really enjoyed the opportunity to feed off of their spirits and the testimonies that they have. Here at the MTC I have been doing really good at fitting everything into my schedule including running in the morning, food, classes, workshop, Spanish, devotions, and companion and independent studies.

We also had a fire alarm pulled on Friday at 6:45 am and that was really fun. You can see in the picture below me wearing my pajamas but what you don't see is the loafers that I am wearing. It was honestly really cold and none of the Sisters were prepared for the 15 degree morning.

My District is also FANTASTIC! I have really enjoyed the Hermanas and the Elders. We have been able to have some really spiritual times and also have had a lot of fun. We all participated in the MTC choir and were able to sing for the general authority Elder Bassett who gave a really good talk about our trials and the kind of obedience that we can have. Either that of Laman and Lemuel or that of Nephi and Sam. We also got to the temple and did baptisms! That was tons of fun because I have never been in the Provo Cupcake temple and it was cool to participate in that ordinance. (It was also cool to get off the MTC campus for the first time ;D).

I know that we have a Father in Heaven and that we are loved. I have also come to know better about how important it is to have the Holy Ghost with you and the wonderful feeling it has to have it encompass you in all things. You feel so good and you feel like with the Holy Ghost and the Savior, you can one day overcome all things. I hope you have all been having a FANTASTIC TIME!!! And that the people starting college again are having a wonderful start to the semester!!
