Semana 31- Have Fun Storming the Castle
It's been super busy this week with basically no time to breath!! It's been super exciting though!! We had last monday the surprise whole mission p-day and then as we were wating and waiting monday night the news came at like 11pm all about transfers.
And
It
Turns
Out
That....
Sister Wagner and I are staying another in Mercedes. WHOOO! And my two past companions Sister Church and sister Martinez became STLs. Also Church is now in my zone!! Which means that our zone just became 10x cooler and I get to see her again!!
Now imagine how crazy it would be on one day to pack 200 people all together and then have them move all their stuff, stuff in 4 meetings on the same day before 12, traffic backed up all along the freeway, and 2 people running around with cameras trying to be in 5 places at once, and you might begin to understand wednesday. We stacked transfers and the new incoming (greenie) meeting all at the same time. It was super exciting because we had 26 new missionaries and 20 who left. We also had to do the work for the tech elders too because one of them went home and the other started training and had to pick up his greenie. And the elders forgot to charge their camera. But, it was super hype and we rolled out the welcoming red carpet to the new missionaries and had a super exciting opening for all these people. Welcome to the best mission in the world!!!
This week we have been trying to follow some challenges to win prizes. Which has included some funny movie quotes and taking pictures of people's pets. And as we have been talking to people we leave them with interesting comments as in "we have got to go because "the sun in warming up" right now" and that we hope you "have fun storming the castle." We also met this really cool person names Abraham who said he had a dream about christ and he was talking to his step-dad about it when he showed up. As we talked to him the second time we meet Julian. A 16 year old, who is probably high and walking around shirtless. Abraham wanted to talk to us privately just about how he wants to set an example to his brother and come to church and such when Julian stats chatting me up. He looks me up and down and asks about my age and if I'm lonely, and then if I am looking for a girlfriend. Which, surprise, I turned him down. So I rate Julian's interest in missionaries as a 10/10 but gospel interest as a 2/10. Abraham's mission interest as a 8/10 and his gospel as a 10/10. Yes, we are stopping by Monday night to teach Abraham more😂
Sunday was also the best where we were out knocking doors and calling our friends to remind them about church at 7:30. We even woke up a facebook referral lady who was up until 2 am trying to get water with her children. She asked which church this is for and is it was a mormon church. When we told her it's our nickname she told us she would be there and brought her 2 children all running on 4 hours of sleep and downloaded the Book of Mormon just in the sacrament service before anybody talked to her. It was super exciting and sis Wagner and i managed to bring 8 new people to church for the first time!! Which for me is a personal missionary record. 2 families came and a Grandma. One of them the Saldaña family are all preparing to be baptized next week which is super exciting!! Please pray for them though because Satan has been working really hard on them to not be able to be baptized!!
Next week should be super exciting! There have been tanto milagros this week and this next one should be even better!!
Pensamiento Espirtual: Jesus the Christ by Talmage
"Mere pleasure is at best but fleeting; happiness is abiding, for in the recollection thereof is joy renewed. Supreme happiness is not an earthly attainment; the promised “fulness of joy” lies beyond death and the resurrection."
