Week 4- Los Patos (The Ducks)

I don't think I will ever understand all of the things that happen at the MTC. With three weeks left there is a lot I still have to learn and a lot of things I still have to find... For those of you confused as to what I am talking about it is these tiny plastic ducks. Some other district is hiding these things everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE.

In plants, on top of doors, in drinking fountains, thermostats, emergency fire extinguisher boxes, on the ground, everywhere. It feels like these ducks are multiplying. (Much like the number of temples... jajaja). Our district has found somewhere around 20 of them right now. It's super exciting to have a never ending scavenger hunt for these little beasts.

Besides that, the MTC has been really good! We have been able to start doing SYL which means that for the past five days all the classes have been only in Spanish. We aren't even allowed to say a word in English during those 7 hours of the day. It's really weird to realize that we have been able to learn so much about the language and have full on conversations (albeit muy pequeno conversations). We even did a Helping Others activity like we were talking to a guy about the Gospel for the first time in Spanish. The gift of tongues is real! We still struggled and the guy knew Portugues, Spanish, and English, so our half Spanglish was really something to behold.

Un problema: No me gusta la comida. Es muy bruto y no sirven verduras ni frutas. If I get scurvy everybody will know why. Please pray that the MTC starts offering these things. After all, it is in the Word of Wisdom that we eat lots of fruits and vegetables. 🙏

The devotional yesterday was also done by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints presiding Bishop, Bishop Causse. The man gave a great talk! He speaks French and English and taught us all a ton about missions and about the real gift of tongues being the Holy Ghost. He also is a fuego piano player! He whipped out the MTC with an amazing rendition of "Come, Come Ye Saints." Honestly, he would probably leave both Beethoven and Mozart a run for their money.

I promise that even though dedicating years of your life solely to the Gospel is difficult, it will bless you. The more you give yourself to Jesus Christ, the more you will see him in your life and the more you will see the blessings!
