Week 5- Donde Esta La Nieve (Where is the Snow?)
Time actually flies so fast when you are at the MTC. It feels like I showed up here just yesterday when I have actually been here for three weeks. The major difference from when I first arrived--besides my slightly improved Spanish skills and spiritual moments--is that there is no more snow. It has been around 50 degrees which is wild because if any of you have been keeping up on what part of the year it is, its only January.January.Not April, or even March. Or February for that matter. What happened? I guess this is just preparing me for the endless heat of McAllen, TX.Yesterday we had a devotional from Elder S. Mark Palmer. He is from New Zealand and gave a fantastic talk about repentance. I have been able to see more about the importance of it in my life and how I can bring this joy to others and myself. It has been amazing to hear second-hand stories of how much people want to share the Gospel once they have been taught it, and proceed to become their own ward missionaries. Also, a tiny bragging moment for my district. Every group has to do service. Ours is to clean up after the big Tuesday Devotionals which means we stack chairs, sweep, take down the bleachers, and put away the plastic lining the floor. District 03-B REPRESENTED! I feel like a buff little hermana after helping stack hundreds of chairs. Also, the other districts in our branch were a little slower to even start helping, so we ended up doing the majority of it.Some blessings: I have been able to go to the temple weekly which has really been a highlight in my week. I loved being able to just spend time on the grounds and inside of it. We have been able to have tons of devotionals and personal studies, I never have enough time to finish what I am trying to learn about. I also love being able to learn more Spanish. My companions and I had our first 30 minute talk in Espanol. We were able to talk and ask questions the entirety of the time without any awkward pauses. El don de lenguas is real and is helping me already!! Also, people all the time perform little musical performances. This includes in branches, at devotionals, and at workshops. I have loved being able to listen to some beautiful music!!LOS FOTOS!- Last week Temple Visit- The Hermana's Snacko Evening Party (Shoutout to my Mom for sending cinnamon rolls)- Companeras- Hermana's at the temple
